The year 2021 has begun for the LadiesGamers! David Lloyd of The Thirsty Mage RPG podcast contacted us after recognizing another gambling site that aimed to positively impact the gambling community. And since our friends specialize in RPGs, they were happy to show us their programming for 2021. That’s it!
Most anticipated GAR to be launched in 2021
For many RPG fans, the freedom and convenience of the Nintendo Switch is an excellent choice for a fifty-plus hour experience. This preference for portability often means that it takes a little longer to get the switch up and running compared to its TV-connected competitors, but the reward is well worth the wait. With a good mix of highly anticipated Switch-only titles and ports already confirmed as must-have experiences, Switch owners have plenty of reasons to look forward to 2021.
Dare Default II, 26. February 2021
With its unique combat system and absolutely stunning graphics, the original Bravely Default RPG has become one of the best RPGs for Nintendo 3DS. Fans of the franchise were thrilled with the announcement of the Nintendo Switch, but expectations began to fade with a demo that left much to be desired. To the developer Square Enix’s credit, much of the feedback from those who played the demo seems to have been implemented into the final product, with one exception: the turn-based and turn-based franchise system, for which the franchise is known. It remains to be seen whether these changes in philosophy will bear fruit.
Heroic legend: Cold steel track IV, 9 April 2021
The Legend of Heroes franchise is arguably the best JRPG series you’ve ever heard of. Switch owners can be forgiven for being in the dark, as Trails of Cold Steel III was first released on a Nintendo system last year. Some localization and licensing issues have led to low adoption rates in the West, but hopefully these problems will become a thing of the past as NIS America plans to bring its latest titles to the Switch. Exploring a story that spans 9 different titles is certainly a difficult task, but it’s worth it to really appreciate the best modern JRPG generator on a turn-by-turn basis.
CrisTales, as of 2021
An unfortunate delay in development pushes this highly anticipated Indian GPR from late 2020 to an early launch (hopefully) in 2021. A demo from late last year showed an interesting combat system and time management mechanism that could lead to a rather unique experience. Inspired by the most famous franchises Final Fantasy and Persona, the developer is looking to create its own legacy for the first time this year.
Runescape 5, spring 2021
Our popular fantasy farm simulation game arrives on the Nintendo Switch in 2021 with a brand new game. In this latest adventure, the hero is recruited from a group of peacekeepers to protect a small town while taking care of their country. Runic Factory 5 continues the tradition of taming monsters and exploring vast areas with lots of civilians. Fans of farming sim who want a little more action should keep an eye out for this fun Marvelous (XSEED) title.
Yes IX : Monster Nox, summer 2021
Nihon Falcom is gearing up for a year of massive change, with the latest game from another flagship title set to release on Nintendo’s portable system later this year. Adol Christina returns for a new adventure with his companion Dougie as they hang out in the city of Balduk. After the critically acclaimed Ys VIII: Lacrimosa by Dana, Monstrum Nox has an action RPG based combat system and is supported by a cast of interesting characters.
Shin Megami Tensei
Shin Megami Tensei III Night, Summer 2021
Originally released for PlayStation 2 in 2004, this remastering of the cult classic is the first of two Shin Megami Tensei games coming to Switch in 2021. A thematically adult role-playing game follows a high school student who becomes half a friend after an apocalyptic event triggered by a sinister cult. Shin Megami Tensei is known for its turn-based combat system, which relies on exploiting the enemy’s weaknesses and recruiting demons to assist the protagonist in his actions. No firm date has been announced yet, but there are still rumors of a summer release.
Shin Megami Tensei B, in 2021 if possible.
Probably the most anticipated RPG of 2021, Shin Megami Tensei V is a game that has been in the minds of Switch owners since it was announced upon its release on the Nintendo system. Little is known about the next installment of the SMT series, except that it takes place in modern-day Tokyo and features the same combat system that fans love. The biggest question mark surrounding the title is whether it will be ready before the end of the year.
