Torchlight II Review –

January 25, 2021 by rtrt

We need… more… find… Ass! For this reason, many games have adopted the philosophy of constantly dropping a pile of loot so that players can constantly improve their characters. It was once limited to the RPG genre, but it has infiltrated everything from shooters to racing games and even some sports games! One of the first games that really showed how awesome it is to be constantly searching for new treasures was Diablo. Many years later I played numerous variations, some excellent and some not so good. As many PC gamers probably already know, Torchlight II belongs to a large category. That’s why it’s so much fun to be able to take it out and play it anytime, anywhere on the show!

Having never played any of the games in the series, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Torchlight II. I played Diablo III on the PlayStation 4 a few years ago, and then I played a lot of the Switch version last year. There’s something incredibly addictive about hacking and slashing thousands of enemies and constantly upgrading weapons and armor. The same fascinating cycle of play is omnipresent here. Don’t get too used to your equipment, as you may have to change it every ten minutes or so. Each object you collect has unique statistics, including basic attributes that can help you in certain situations. While you may be tempted to just equip the gears that give you a higher number, sometimes it’s important to look at the secondary attributes because they can be useful.

When I first downloaded Torchlight II, I didn’t know what to expect. I had heard about the show in passing, but never followed it in any significant way. The first thing I noticed was the game’s graphics, which reminded me a bit of a Diablo cartoon. In a way, it has the same stylistic design as games like World of Warcraft or the Dark Kingdoms of Amalur. I love the more fantastic environments presented here, and your search includes a wide variety of places to explore. The game works both on TV and in manual mode.

In addition to your equipment, which is constantly changing, you also have access to a pet that can help you in battle. My friend was very good at provoking his opponents and knocking them down when I needed a little help. I didn’t have to order him around, he just did his thing. You can even equip it with different collars and other things that can make it even stronger.

Perhaps the biggest flaw in this game is the lack of a bench club. I realize this wasn’t the case with the other versions either, but with the Switch I thought it made sense to take out the Joy-Con and give it to a friend to have fun together. It may have taken too much work to introduce this mode into the game, but it seems like a huge mistake for a console that encourages joy sharing. There is at least one four-player online co-op, which in reality is probably enough for most people.

I had fun with Torchlight II, and I think it’s a more family friendly version of Diablo III. The game has a lighter atmosphere and the graphics are definitely on the color side. For the amount of content and the modest price of $20, it’s a no-brainer for Loot RPG fans. It is also perfect for beginners, as the game is not too difficult and it will not be hard to try. It lacks some of the production value of the mega guitar set by Blizzard, but don’t let that stop you.

Final thoughts : GRAND

Flashlight II is an excellent alternative to Diablo III on the switch. It is rated in the Teen category, which is more appropriate for younger players and is an excellent introduction to the crawling dungeon type of roleplaying. The lack of local co-op mode on a single switch is a bit disappointing, but the four-player online co-op mode more than makes up for it.
